Is the birthplace of James Madison one of the most haunted sites in Virginia? That was the question that came to my mind as my team (Argos Paranormal) walked cautiously around the colonial plantation home. The gurgling of the Rappahannock River matched with the silent canvas that is the plantation home wraps itself around the quiet bed and breakfast that sits there today. For the first investigation of our show, The Witching Hour, my team at Argos Paranormal visited Belle Grove Plantation in King George, VA, the birthplace of James Madison, and that episode managed to set the entire tone of the program to come. From the basement where tall shadow figures have been spotted to the library with a guest that never seemed to leave after death, we sought to understand and examine the famous claims made by previous visitors to the plantation who reported seeing full-bodied apparitions of Union soldiers walking throughout the home and plantation grounds, heard peculiar footsteps and whispers echoing throughout the home, and finally some have reported to have woken up to a lady in white standing over them while staying in the Madison Room. “I didn’t believe in ghosts and stuff like that” one plantation visitor told me, “but a few hours here alone and I was questioning my sanity until I accepted some things are beyond understanding.” This individual happened to be doing a photoshoot near the slave cabins, and as he walked alone he witnessed several individuals walk in, but never walk out. “The fog…” one guest began to speak to me but her lip started to tremble, “the fog that came out from under the bed in the Madison room makes no sense, we checked everyone to see if it was a vent or a machine but nothing can explain that terrifying fog.” Unlike the other paranormal TV shows on air, The Witching Hour follows each investigator of Argos Paranormal as we push ourselves beyond what you expect from a typical paranormal show. Viewers can watch our episode at Belle Grove now on YouTube (See Below) while viewers can watch future episodes of the show on select TV stations throughout the country.
